Motherhood
The prenatal and postpartum period can be one of the most wonderful events in a woman's life, it can also be one of the most challenging. It is a period of intense emotions, dramatic physical changes, hormonal shifts, and relationship shifts with loved ones.
Women and their partners who have recently given birth may face a range of feelings in addition to joy. These include extreme sadness, anxiety, loneliness, uncertainty, confusion, guilt, and even scary intrusive thoughts. If you are experiencing these for more than two weeks after giving birth, you may be experiencing symptoms of postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety. Though it may feel overwhelming, there is hope and psychotherapy helps a great deal.
My goal is to help mothers develop the confidence and coping skills to manage the challenges of mothering and find joy in the experience. I have completed the Postpartum Support International certificate training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
As a mother of two, I empathize with the unique struggles of motherhood and incorporate this experience into my work in a non judgemental and supportive environment.
